Friday morning rundown

*The first USA Today coaches poll of the 2009 College Football season came out this morning. Guess who's #1? If you guessed the man to the left's team, then you're correct. Coming off two national championships in three years, it's the obvious choice. (USA Today)

*Rashard Lewis of the Orlando Magic has suspended 10 games to start next season for testing positive for high levels of testosterone. He says he took an over the counter supplement at the end of last season that he didn't realize contained a banned substance. The NBA has largely avoided these problems unlike other sports until now. (NYT)

*Yanks took it to the Red Sox and John Smoltz last night. (USA Today)

*Andre Eithier with a walk-off last night to get the win for the Dogers over the Braves. (MLB)

*Somehow Prince Fielder and Guillermo Mota were only fined and not suspended. Surprising at least on the Fielder side, since he chased Mota down the hall outside the Dodgers locker room. (MLB)

*Big Papi and the MLB Union are planning a press conference for Saturday at Yankee stadium before their match-up with the Yankees to discuss the positive drug tests. (SI)

*Thursday night MLB scoreboard.

*Nice rundown of baseball news on SI.

*Michael Crabtree could sit out the 2009 NFL season if the 49ers don't give him the money he wants. The tenth overall pick wants money like the 7th overall pick Darius Heyward-Bay got which is $38 million. The problem is Crabtree was picked three spots lower. (San Francisco Chronicle)

*Patriots make trade with the Raiders and get pro-bowl defensive end Derrick Burgess. (SI)

*Buccaneers new headcoach Raheem Morris told his TE Kellen Winslow to shut up...well not exactly he told him to keep his emotions in check. (Pewter Report)
